Another hectic week, busy, sweet, sad all mixed into one, with too much tiredness to explain. A quick overview: I went to the beach, got into Korean dramas, kept working on the hardwood, and am prepping for back to school. I go back on Saturday!
Suits– I am watching the sixth season right now. Still unsure of what to think, though I do like the novelty of Mike’s situation in prison.
Oh My Venus – A friend recommended this to me and so far, I’m hooked! Oh my Venus is about a girl who gains weight as she gets older, so seeks out a personal trainer to help her lose the pounds. Eventually, they fall in love.
Winter melon beginning to spring up as little fuzzy beans. They grow up to be around 20 or 30 pounds, so I hear. I’m pretty excited for what’s to come!
- Also love this article from Miss Moss regarding what to buy from ASOS. It turns out I love her style, also its so much nicer when other people filter out your favorite clothes for you 😉
from the beach trip – Cape Henlopen
A quick photo across a bridge on the way to Cape Henlopen Park
a panorama that doesn’t even capture the beauty at all of the ocean
Love how bright and happy the umbrellas are
- try and read some articles in the New York Times and keep up to date with the world
- exercise around 30 minutes each day
- spend around 30 minutes each day reading the Bible, praying, and doing devotionals
Apologies for missing a week, but the amount of stuff that I have had in general these past two weeks has been ridiculous. To sum it up shortly, I finished up my physics classes at UD on Friday, emceed at the Chinese Festival of Delaware on Saturday, and have been working straight since then on my family’s installation of hardwood upstairs. I also go back to school in less than two weeks, so I’m starting to organize myself and figure out what I need to bring and prepare for. Some highlights I suppose…
my favorite picture …
Podcasts for later…
Gastropod – for all things food related
Come Reason – Christian apologetics!
watched The Imitation Game – really good, Benedict Cumberbatch is the best and such a good celebration of the life of Alan Turing
want to watch When Harry Met Sally – am trying to get into good, old romantic comedies again
All things Chinese Festival!
Such a good time emceeing for the first time (I’m the one in blue for all the pictures). It’s not one of my strong suits (being on stage), but I genuinely enjoyed it and had a good time with all the people. I also thought it was such a great way to give back to the Chinese community that I have been a part of for so many years.
- my favorite sports to watch are swimming, gymnastics, and beach volleyball
- you should check out the story behind Shang Chunsong if you have the chance
- also, being from two different cultures, I’m blessed to always have a team to root for 🙂 go USA and go China! 🙂
Praying for …
- me and Jason’s relationship
- strength in installing hardwood
- preparation for school
1. Alex Currie Media
So I know of Alex Currie through a mutual friend, but basically, the guy’s amazingly talented. He’s a photographer and a cinematographer, has won national awards at film festivals, has been featured for Vogue Italia, one of the top photographers on flickr, etc. etc.. I stumbled across his Youtube Channel and was blown away by the subtle depths and beauty of his work, the urging questions and the thematic principles. I’m absolutely amazed by the fact that this guy is the same age as me and has had so many accomplishments thus far.

2. Catch 22
I’m reading Catch 22 in Lit class right now. At first I didn’t like it… but now, I’m astounded by Joseph Heller’s capabilities. He manages to link so many different themes in so many different ways, the intricacies, the inner themes, the complexities, the recurring repetiion, the circular logic, the humor, the Catch 22 – WOW.
3. Et Pourquoi pas Coline?
This is a French fashion blog. Unfortunately, I do not speak nor read French, so I simply just look at the pictures. I absolutely love the lady’s fashion sense though – it’s very elegant, classy, yet also very spunky and unique. This is definitely the style of clothing that I would wear and I draw a lot of inspiration for her. Plus, you can tell she puts a lot of effort into all of her blog posts and I think that really shows off.
Whew, coming back from a long hiatus.
Things I is liking right now…
1) Big Scarves
I like wrapping my scarves and then knotting them and fluffing them up. So warm and so comfy, especially during this season.
2) Yahoo Answers
Yeah, I’m going to admit it. Physics is so stinkin’ hard. But it’s really nice being able to find people who are willing to explain the problem to you. This is the only reason I survive physics.
3) Let the Waters Rise – Mikeschair
This song is so beautiful. It makes me want to sing.
Because why not, it’s coming up soon. The word cornucopia got me a bonus point on a lit quiz too 😉 I’m ready for a much needed break … in order to do more college apps and study and catch up with work.
Panicking because I don’t do enough to actually have too many favorites each week HAHA
1. You are my strength – Hillsong Live
I am so so so obsessed with this song. It’s one of those songs that gives you a lot of chance for your own interpretation of the music.
I don’t know why… but I’d probably eat this three times a day if I could. Unfortunately, I am limited to perhaps one every two days or so. Costco brand of course.
3. The Salt Collective
My friend showed this website to me. It focuses a lot on interesting news and on faith. I’m looking forward to going through it.
1. Google Drive
Google Drive is an absolute lifesaver. I literally cannot believe how I could not have thought to use it before. It’s wonderful for storing things, for sharing things, for organizing things…
yahhhhh I’m excitedly organizing away ^_^
2. Stumble Upon
It’s a great way to “stumble upon” new websites that can flutter your interest! Definitely recommend
3. Happily Grey
Obsessed with this fashion blog.
1. Spanish music
I am obsessed with this song and Spanish music in general. So catchy.
2. Legend of Korra
Literally. So. Much. Hype.
3. These Summit Pictures
Probably one of my favorite pictures ever 🙂 Such a great experience. #bofastudentleaders
This is a website in which you virtually simulate being poor. Reading this… it kind of seems very offending, but the website, I think, gives you a nice over view of what those who are in poverty may be going through and a greater insight into what could have led to their troubles. You go into the website, you choose a low paying job – a waiter, a small administrator, etc. and then you have to go through a month without ending up with a balance of zero. However, you are faced with constant troubles and constant financial difficulties that come as a result of life – mother’s medication, death of dog, counselor meetings, kids, etc. After playing the game – which is actually really addicting, you understand the actions that those in poverty, who are desperate, have to make. At the end, it also asks you to donate $10 to Urban Ministries of Durham. I think it’s a good cause, so I’m definitely spreading the word about it ^_^
2. Mexican Rice Bowls!
I think it’s pretty obvious that everyone is in love with Chipotle. But not only is the food so delicious and so good, it’s also so healthy and so easy to make right in your own house! I love my Mexican rice bowls with avocados, chicken, lettuce, beans, etc. It’s your choice whatever you put into it and guh, so good 🙂
3. LIZ CLIMO
Hehe. I’m kind of obsessed with her absolutely adorable tumblr. She has all these cute characters in these comics responding to statements, topped with perfect drawings and clever puns. Check it out. Sooooo cute.
4. Listen to Our Hearts
I have always loved this song. It makes me so happy and so worship hyped. Not to mention it features one of my favorite artists, Tim Be Told.
